BUSINESS

Summer break can be one of the toughest times for work at home moms. We all know that children are full of energy. They require lots of attention, entertainment, and playtime. Your business also requires attention in order to remain afloat. Thankfully, there are ways to manage both successfully!
A major benefit for work at home moms is flexibility. We live in a time when you can work from almost anywhere. Why not work from your phone or laptop while at the park or a nearby playground? On a rainy day you could work from a restaurant with an indoor play place. Think outside of the box and plan your work along side activities you have planned for your child.
Like many work at home moms, I have found that proper planning is a key component to getting things done. Plan a list of daily activities for your child for the week. Be detailed and make wise use of your time. Just as you keep a to do list for your business or work at home job, keep a to do list for your child’s activities. This should coincide with tasks you need to accomplish for your business.
Remember the reason you chose to join the community of work at home moms in the first place. Likely the reason is your child or children. It is important that your child experience a window of time with your undivided attention. Wherever you can you should work to automate some of your business activities. This will allow you to schedule dedicated time spent with your child.
It is true that as work at home moms we have our hands full during summer break. However, we can still get things done! My advice is to remain flexible yet purposeful. Handle marketing and any other tasks that you can while on the go. Use automation when possible and be sure to schedule in breaks and down time for yourself and your child. Overall, enjoy the benefits that we have as work at home moms and make it a summer to remember!
